This lively textile has origins with the Baoulé, Akan people of Côte d’Ivoire but dates back to the Ashanti Kingdom of the 16th century. The fabric is traditionally worn during ceremonies or special community celebrations. The pieces are made completely by hand using indigenous techniques by local artisans and weavers. This fabric is an actual vintage Baule Textile from Ivory Coast, West Africa. There may be a few small stains, blemishes or discoloration consistent with use.
